Pornography as an Opportunity for Pomurje: 'It's Hard Work'

Lack of Knowledge, Not Interest
The Večer article opens a discussion that is rare and often misunderstood in Slovenia: commercial sexuality as work that requires knowledge, preparation, and responsibility. The focus is not on sensationalism, but on the question of access to information, education, and safer entry paths into an industry that already exists – but is poorly regulated.
According to Žiga Sedevčič, president of Dobra Družba, the key problem is the lack of credible information. People interested in working in commercial sexuality have no clear instructions, neither in Slovenia nor in the wider Balkans. The result is improvisation, more risks, and more room for abuse.
That is why representatives of Dobra Družba are going out into the field – including to Pomurje – where they answer questions from interested individuals, explain the real working conditions, and present educational opportunities.

Education Instead of Myths
The article highlights that the association is preparing seminars aimed at raising awareness and acquiring practical knowledge – including for work in acting and filming in pornographic films and erotic massage. The message is clear: the fact that someone is born with genitals does not automatically mean they are prepared for such work. Knowledge, understanding of boundaries, safety protocols, and one's own psychophysical readiness are necessary.
This approach attempts to debunk the widespread myth of 'easy money' and present the industry as hard work that requires professionalism.
Local Context and Real Demand
The article also highlights a concrete experience from the field: the interest of individuals who are already engaged in certain forms of services. Among them is an interviewee from Maribor who works in the field of fetishism and notes constant demand. This confirms that the market exists even outside major urban centers – the question is whether it has access to appropriate information and support.
Between Opportunity and Responsibility
The Večer article does not advocate for an uncritical expansion of the industry, but emphasizes the need for awareness and knowledge. If people are already deciding to work in commercial sexuality, it is essential that they do so informed, with an understanding of legal frameworks, safety, and personal boundaries.
In this sense, pornography is presented as a potential opportunity, but only if accompanied by education, responsibility, and realistic expectations.
