Warning to Dobra Družba Members: Incident in Styria and Action Guidelines

Important information on safety and rights during police visits.

The Incident

Dear members, today an incident occurred in Styria that we must take seriously. A person dressed in a police uniform (probably an older version of the uniform, without a tactical vest) came to the door of our member from Serbia. Without a court order, he entered the apartment, interrogated her about her work and clients, and informed a 'boss' over the phone. Then he demanded cash and took almost 200 euros from her. Description of the person: about 180 cm tall, brown hair, normal build.

Action Guidelines

To prevent such situations and protect yourself, follow these guidelines:

Entry into the apartment: Police need a court order or a clearly stated reason to enter. If they don't have this, refuse entry. If they appear at the door anyway, remain calm and do not let persons into the space without verification.

Statements: You are not obliged to give any statements against yourself or your loved ones without the presence of a legal advisor or lawyer.

Document the visit: If you have the opportunity, call me on WhatsApp or Viber at 00386 69 655 069. A video call is ideal, as we can record the person for additional verification. Record all data, including names and service numbers of police officers. If there is a suspicion that the person is not a real police officer or is violating your rights, report it.

Identity verification: Check if the police officers are on duty, as entry without a warrant or intimidation is against the law. Police officers who violate rules can be suspended.

Payment for services: Police officers may not purchase sexual services as part of their work. They can only be clients in their free time, and even then they must behave in accordance with the law.

The Police is Your Ally

Let me emphasize that the police in Slovenia are the guardians of your rights. Sex work has been decriminalized in Slovenia since 2003. If you face violence, extortion, or other forms of threat, the police are the ones who will protect you without negative consequences.

Please be vigilant and do not be afraid to act if a similar situation occurs. Your safety comes first, so contact me in case of doubts or problems.
